The Royal Australian Mint is proud to illuminate its iconic building in support of significant national, community and commemorative events and causes.
We welcome eligible organisations to submit a request to have the Mint illuminated in recognition of occasions that align with our Building Illumination Policy.
Building illuminations provide an opportunity to acknowledge important moments and raise awareness of causes that are meaningful to communities across Australia.
Eligibility
Requests for building illumination will be considered where they meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Commemorative occasions of national significance.
- Diplomatic and ceremonial occasions supported by the Australian Government, including registered national charitable events and causes that are non-profit, non-denominational and non-political.
- Federal Government and ACT Government initiatives.
Requests cannot be considered for commercial entities, personal occasions or religious observances.
How to Apply
To request an illumination, please complete and submit the Building Lighting Request Form.
Please note:
- Requests must be submitted at least 30 days before the proposed illumination date.
- Applications are assessed on a first come, first served basis.
- There is no automatic annual renewal. If you wish to request an illumination in future years, a new application must be submitted each year.
- All applicants will be notified by email of the outcome of their request.
- While every effort is made to accommodate eligible requests, approval cannot be guaranteed. If your application is unsuccessful, this is not a reflection of the significance or merit of your event or cause.
- Before submitting your application, please read the Building Illumination Policy to ensure your request meets the eligibility requirements.
