Medals and Medallions
The Royal Australian Mint has crafted customised items for several significant sporting events including multiple Commonwealth Games, Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, INVICTUS Games, and both the VIRTUS and INAS Games.
The standard diameters for medals/medallions are 40mm, 50mm and 63mm. Thickness is generally advised by our craftspeople and is usually between 2mm and 5mm. You may choose from a variety of metals including bronze, brass, copper (which can be gold or silver plated), fine silver or 24 carat gold.
Four finishes are available - as struck, antique, proof and gilt (gold plated).
Wall Plaques
Particularly suitable for display on office walls, these are typically struck in copper and gold plated. These are mounted on responsibly sourced local reclaimed timber and include an inscription plate for engraving below the mounted medallion.
Tokens
Durable and effective, tokens are useful for promotions and vending machines, or for controlling large scale operations where great volumes of loose change are undesirable. A range of tokens are available to your specifications.
Lapel Badges
Lapel badges can be manufactured from bronze or fine silver, and both can be plated in 24 carat gold. To save on tooling charges, lapel badges can be crafted using the master tooling from your medal or medallion.
Ordering
Please allow a minimum of 8 months lead time for any new orders.
Set-up fees including new master tooling, dies and design work begin at $5000.
