We warmly invite you to join us on Saturday 28 February 2026 for the Royal Australian Mint’s 2026 Family Fun Day. This will be a special Family Fun Day event, as we celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Australian Decimal Currency.
The Mint grounds will come to life with live music, a coin swap, kids coin trade, face painting, barbeque and activities for both experienced collectors and those new to coin collecting. Expert Mint speakers will share insights into the coin-making process, from design to production. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy.
Collectors can exchange cash for collectible and coloured circulating coins, with a new commemorative circulating coin being released as part of the coin swap event. Children aged 5–12 can trade ordinary coins for special Mint pieces. A 60th anniversary coin with an exclusive ‘60’ countermark will also be available to press on the day. Plus, there's early access to the March coin releases at the Mint Shop.
Explore the coin museum, enjoy a picnic or visit the Mint Café. Entry is free, family- and wheelchair-friendly, with parking available.
We look forward to seeing you there!
This is an outdoor event, please come prepared for all weather — layering clothing, hats, suncream and plenty of water. The Mint has onsite water refill stations.
