Queue IT

Why don’t you just increase the server/bandwidth capacity?

The Mint has also increased website capacity as part of recent upgrades. To ensure customers are provided a fair and equal opportunity to purchase our popular products, while increasing security provided by the Mint’s website, we have implemented a queueing system.

Why are you allowed 20 minutes for a transaction to be made? Other places allow less than 10 minutes

The Mint may well reduce the allowed time for a transaction as part of the optimisation process. However, initially we did not want to make you, our valued customer, feel rushed with your purchase.

Why did you do this?

Adding this feature will ensure the stability of user experience at periods of extreme demand on the website. Placing customers in a queue will ensure you a fast and smooth transaction when you reach the website.

I just want one of each coin, why do I have to wait to make a purchase?

Websites, similar to physical shops have a limit to their capacity. If we permit all customers to access the site at once during times of extreme demand, the load will cause the system to slow and provide a poor experience for all.

Why can’t you reserve the product for the 15minute buying timeframe?

The Mint does not allow the reservation of stock.

I’d like to make a complaint about the new system, who can I complain to?

If you have complaints or feedback please provide these to hello@ramint.gov.au

How many people will be allowed to make a purchase at one time?

The number of customers allowed on the website at any one time will be adjusted and fine-tuned to provide an optimum customer experience.

Do I lose my place in line if my mobile phone is in sleep mode?

You will not lose your place in line if you close your browser or if your phone is in sleep mode. If you get back before your turn, you will get back to your position. However, please note that you have a limited amount of time to access the website once it is your turn.

How is it possible that my expected time of arrival to the website changes?

In the case of increased queue speed, the estimated time of arrival decreases and in case of decreased queue speed, the estimated time of arrival increases. If a lot of people, who are in front of you in the line, decide to leave the queue, this will also influence your wait time so you will arrive earlier.

I encountered an error or technical issue during my purchase.

In case you encounter any technical errors during your purchase, please contact the Customer Service Team on 1300 652 020 or by emailing hello@ramint.gov.au

What happens if I miss my turn?

Missing your turn means, your session has expired and you need to start over in the queue. When it is your turn, you have a limited amount of time to access the site you want to visit. The limit is controlled on the website you want to access.

What happens when it is my turn?

When it is your turn, you will automatically be redirected to the eShop to make your purchase.

What happens when I arrive before the queue is open/active?

As soon as the queue starts running, a random place in line will be assigned to you and all other users who arrived before the queue opened up. Please wait patiently until you get your queue position assigned.

Why use randomization instead of first-come first-served principle?

By default Queue-it’s virtual waiting room operates on a first-in, first-out basis. However, if visitors arrive early to a sale or registration, they are placed in a pre-queue.

Visitors in the pre-queue see a countdown to the start of the product release. Once products are released, those early-comers in the pre-queue are randomized, and from that point on anyone else who joins the waiting room will be put at the back of the queue in a first-come, first-served order.

A pre-queue prevents website crashes from early demand and delivers online fairness.

Without the pre-queue, the start of the sale would artificially move earlier and earlier. For example, consider a product release that starts at 8.30am. If someone showing up at 7:30am gets a prioritized spot in line, what’s to stop someone from arriving at 6am, or 5am?

The pre-queue also neutralizes the advantage that visitors with fast internet or bots with speedy scripts would otherwise receive by arriving seconds before a sale or registration.

The Queue-it queue page shows it is my turn, but I can only see a blank page and got redirected to the waiting room again. What has happened?

If you encounter an issue like this, please wait patiently until the team resolves the problem, or contact the Customer Service Team on 1300 652 020 or hello@ramint.gov.au for additional information and help

Why do I end up in the queue over and over again?

When you have been through the queue you will arrive at the website you want to access. A cookie will be stored in your browser to verify that you actually have been redirected via the queue. This is a security measure to prevent fraud and queue bypassing.

In order to prevent ending up in the queue over and over again, you have to make sure that your browser accepts cookies from the website you want to access.

Can I register my email address to be notified when it’s almost my turn while in the waiting room?

No, this feature is only available once the queue is formed. It will only be active when the queue is live.

When is the notification email actually sent?

You’ll be notified when it’s almost your turn. By the time you return to the queue you will likely be directed to the website or only have a minute or two remaining in the waiting room.

Can a user check their position in the queue at any time?

Yes, once you register an email you will receive a link, at any time you can click the link to check your remaining wait time in the queue.

I registered for a notification but didn’t receive an email, what do I do?

Please check your spam and junk email folders. Please note, the confirmation email may take a few minutes to arrive.
