visiting hours | at the mint
The Royal Australian Mint has completed its refurbishment works and the First Floor is now open.
For a close-up, behind the scenes view of the Mint you can look through our observation windows down onto the factory floor and watch coins being made right then and there. And make sure to look out for one of the world's strongest robots, the Titan!
Our exciting new theatrette presentation will explain the coining process to you. And there are early, rare and historically significant coins on show from our National Coin Collection as well as displays illustrating the history of Australian coins.
There are also a number of TV screens in the foyer which displays LIVE footage from cameras within the building, like the view of our giant robot tipping drums of coin blanks. In the Coin Shop you can make your own coin on our visitor press and don't forget to check out our souvenirs, latest collector coin issues and really unique gift ideas.
