Known for creating intricate and striking designs, the Royal Australian Mint’s coin designer Stevan Stojanovic will take centre stage at the M. R. Roberts’ Wynyard Coin Centre Open Day in Sydney tomorrow, Friday 16 December 2016.
Relocating to a new shopfront after 47 years in the same location, Wynyard Coins, one of the Mint’s authorised coin dealers, is marking the move with an Open Day welcoming the public to enjoy show bags, discounted products and meet a Mint Coin Designer in person.
Mint CEO Mr Ross MacDiarmid said that the coin dealer network helps to connect the Australian public with coins when they can’t get to the Mint and the Wynyard Coins Open Day is a good introduction for those who want to know more about Australia’s coins.
“We are excited to take part in the Wynyard Coins Open Day and bring a little bit of the Mint experience with having one of our coin designers onsite, to explain the coin design process, from inception to completed product,” said Mr MacDiarmid.
Mr Stojanovic has designed some of the Mint’s well known products including the 2017 $1 Coloured Fine Silver Frosted Uncirculated Coin – Sydney New Year’s Eve, the 2017 50c Tetra-decagon Uncirculated Coin – Year of the Rooster and coins from the Seasons Change – Kangaroo Series amongst others.
From 10 am – 2 pm tomorrow, Friday 16 December 2016, the Wynyard Coins Open Day will not only see one of the Mint’s coin designers in presence, but also the Mint’s mascot Mr Minty (Giant Coin Man) and a special sales desk with the Mint’s latest products.
The Open Day will take place at 3 Barrack Street, Sydney, NSW.
Helping collectors to complete their collections since 1966, Wynyard Coins services customers from within Australia and internationally for all of their numismatic needs.
