SPRING into the Mint during Floriade 2017!

During Floriade we are introducing a new way to experience our public galleries. In the place of public tours, from 16 September to 15 October 2017 between 10.00am and 4.00pm, our lovely guides will be stationed at key areas ready and waiting to tell you all the fantastic stories of coins in Australia and how we mint approximately 250 million coins each year.

You can also design and colour-in your own coin, create a possum mask, and check out our robots! If you’re lucky, one of them just might dance for you.

Public tour times: (Public tours are not run during Floriade, 16 September – 15 October 2017)

The Mint conducts free public tours seven days a week, which run for approximately 30 minutes.

Mon-Fri: 10 am and 2 pm

Sat, Sun and Public Holidays: 11 am, 1 pm and 2 pm

On the tour you will hear some interesting stories about the history of coins in Australia and look out over the factory while you learn how coins are made.

Bookings for these tours are not required. Please meet the guide on the first floor outside the public theatrette.

During certain times of the year additional tours are added throughout the day. For any enquires regarding additional tours contact 02 6202 6999 or email
