To commemorate the Invictus Games Sydney 2018, the Mint as an ‘Official Supporter’ brings you the 2018 Invictus Coin Program.  Produced in partnership with Invictus Games Sydney 2018, the new $2 coin will celebrate the unconquered spirit of wounded, injured and ill service personnel and veterans across Australia.

The Mint expects to release 2.3 million of the coins into public circulation over the coming months, ensuring they reach Australian’s wallets and change in time for Invictus Games Sydney 2018 to be held from 20 to 27 October.

Invictus Games Sydney 2018

The word ‘Invictus’,  Latin for ‘unconquered’, embodies the fighting spirit of our wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women.

The Invictus Games is an international adaptive sports event that highlights the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding of and respect for those who serve their country.

In 2018, the Invictus Games will be held ‘Down Under’ in Sydney from 20 – 27 October. Competitors from 18 nations will compete in 11 different sports, with events being held across Greater Sydney, including Sydney Olympic Park and on and around the iconic Sydney Harbour.

The Games creator and ambassador, His Royal Highness Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex will be in attendance to cheer on the athletes at the Games.
