Exciting new changes to pressing the Last and First Coins of the Year at the Royal Australian Mint

Terms and Conditions

With a New Year comes a fresh new look and that is just what we are going to do with our New Year event celebrations at the Mint!

We have changed things up to create more opportunities for people to engage in the New Year celebrations with us.

New Year’s Eve – Last coin of the year

Similar to last year, we will hold a lucky door draw. However, this year we will actually draw the last ten customers to strike a coin.

Each lucky winner will receive a certificate authenticating their last coin for 2017.

Ticketing closes: 3.25 pm

Draw: 3.30 pm

New Year’s Day – First 100 by 9.30 am!

On 1 January 2018 the first 100 people at the Mint by 9.30 am will receive a ticket to go into the lucky draw to be the first person to strike a coin in 2018! Tickets will be drawn to declare all 100 places, receiving corresponding certificates authenticating their piece.
