The Royal Australian Mint will re-open on Tuesday 9 June

An update for visitors regarding the gradual re-opening of the Mint.

The Mint will re-open access to the Mint's shop and café for members of the public from 10.00 am on Tuesday 9 June following advice from the ACT Government and the Chief Medical Officer. The Mint's Gallery and Factory viewing area will remain closed to the public until further notice.

The Mint will be open 7 days a week, from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, with a maximum capacity of 20 visitors. Our Visitor Experience team will assist with entry conditions and safety requirements, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding.

In preparation for reopening, we are implementing a range of measures to ensure the health and well-being of our visitors and staff as outlined below.

Public safety measures

The following safety measures are a condition of entry to the Mint, we kindly request that all visitors:

  • Maintain social distancing at all times
  • Utilise the sanitiser stations placed conveniently throughout the Mint
  • Limit their visit to 15 minutes if possible, particularly for use of the coin press

For the health and safety of staff and visitors, any visitor/s showing signs of illness or refusing to abide by these measures will be refused entry.
