New Release January 2025 – Tooth Fairy Kit

For generations, the Tooth Fairy has brought joy to Australian children, turning the loss of a baby tooth into a magical moment. For centuries, this beloved tradition has delighted families, with parents adding their own touches of wonder — sprinkling glitter or leaving notes alongside coins.

Rooted in folklore and imagination, coins have long been cherished as symbols of the Tooth Fairy's visit. Since 2020, the Mint has offered Tooth Fairy kits, and in 2025, it continues the tradition — an enchanting keepsake designed to create lasting memories for children.

For parents and grandparents, the Tooth Fairy coin is a nostalgic reminder of their own childhood mornings, waking to find a treasured coin beneath their pillow. For today’s youngsters, it’s an exciting time, bringing a gap-toothed smile and a little extra sparkle to their journey of growing up — a cherished token for children and families.

This coin, designed by the Mint’s Aaron Baggio, depicts the Tooth Fairy playfully perched cross-legged on a garden mushroom. Her smile peeks out from beneath the drooping petals of an upside-down flower that crowns her head. Encircling her, intricate leafy and floral patterns evoke the charm of a whimsical garden — a design that extends seamlessly from the coin to its packaging. The packaging features cartoon-style Australian wildlife, with falling leaves and fluttering butterflies adding a sense of enchantment. Complete with coin, bamboo toothbrush, glitter pen and drawstring pouch, it exudes the sense of fun and mystery that surrounds the Tooth Fairy tradition. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne.
