The Mint and Earth Hour 2012

The Royal Australian Mint is proud to observe Earth Hour again this year, and will be turning off our lights at 8:30pm on Saturday 31 March 2012.

Earth Hour is a global sustainability movement organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and is a global call to action to stand up, to take responsibility, and lead the global journey to a sustainable future. Along with millions of others around the globe, the Mint will 'power down' for one hour at 8:30 pm on Saturday 31 March by turning off all lighting and unplugging appliances at the power point.

The Mint has participated in Earth Hour since its inception in 2007, and we are proud to be a part of a global movement aimed at drawing attention to and reducing climate change.
