Australia’s Beloved Koalas Captured on Collectible Coins
This coin design beautifully captures the essence of Australia's beloved wildlife, featuring two koalas, a mother and her joey, nestled on a eucalyptus tree. This charming depiction not only highlights the close bond between the koalas but also showcases their natural habitat, the iconic eucalyptus tree. Designed by the Mint’s Adam Ball, this coin features intricate details of eucalyptus leaves and gum nut patterns that enrich the background. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty, King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne.
What sets these coins apart from our previous koala series coins is the inclusion of both the mother and child, making it a symbol of care, continuity, and family. The detailed background accentuates the uniqueness of the koalas' environment, offering a visual homage to the Australian wilderness. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne.
