Kate Doughty – Paratriathlon

With the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games fast approaching we are proud to announce that paratriathlon champion, Kate Doughty will be the official 2016 Australian Paralympic Team Coin Program Ambassador!  To celebrate the courage, determination and inspiration shown by the athletes, Kate will join the Mint on the road to Rio to share her story as she prepares to compete for gold.

Kate showed determination from a young age. Born without a right hand, Kate played violin  and competed in Equestrian at World Championship level. Later, with an unwavering ‘can do’ attitude, Kate transitioned successfully into a paratriathlete in 2014 and has already made it into the top three ITU World Paratriathlon rankings. Kate has set her eyes on winning gold at Rio and the Royal Australian Mint is proud to share Kate’s journey with you.
