The Mint has recently received a range of commentary in relation to rolled circulating coins that has found its way into the marketplace after being distributed to banks from the Royal Australian Mint.
This presents an excellent opportunity for us to provide some greater insight into how the Mint manages its two major streams of business activities: (1) The provision of circulating coins to banks through a supply chain solution and (2) the development, manufacture and distribution of commercial products for purchase by individuals and companies for the purpose of collection.

The Royal Australian Mint will be performing maintenance on its telecommunications systems on Wednesday 29 July 2020 from 7.00 am until 9.00 am. From Tuesday 7 July 2020 the Mint will return to normal business hours. Monday - Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, and Weekends from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Requirements in the Mint Gallery, Shop and Cafe will allow 1 person per 4 square meters.
Gallery tours are currently still suspended until further notice.
Our Visitor Experience team will assist with entry conditions and safety requirements, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding.

From Monday 22 June 2020 the Mint will open access to the Mint's gallery, shop and café to members of the public following advice from the ACT Government and the Chief Medical Officer.
The Mint will be open 7 days a week, from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, with a maximum capacity of 80 visitors allowed in the visitor gallery. Requirements in the Mint Shop and Cafe will allow 1 person per 4 square meters.

Please be aware that due to the Reconciliation Day public holiday in the Australian Capital Territory, the Mint will be closed on Monday 1 June 2020. The Call Centre will re-open on Tuesday 2 June 2020 from 8.30am. Purchases can still be made via our online store https://eshop.ramint.gov.au and existing orders will be processed and dispatched as normal.

The Mint will re-open to members of the public at 10.00 am on Tuesday 9 June following advice from the ACT Government and the Chief Medical Officer.
In preparation for reopening, we are implementing a range of measures to ensure the health and well-being of our visitors and staff and to facilitate social distancing. At this stage the Mint’s Gallery will remain closed, however our store and café will be open.

In light of current COVID-19 health warnings, the Royal Australian Mint will be closed to visitors from 5.00 pm today until further notice. As an essential service, the Mint's factory will continue to operate as normal.

The Royal Australian Mint has recently delayed the first stage of the Eureka! Roadshow and suspended Coin Swap events due to the unfolding Coronavirus situation.
At this time we wish to assure our loyal and dedicated collectors that the Mint will resume Roadshow and Coin Swap events once they are deemed safe for our staff and attendees. At which time the Mint will strive to visit as many towns and cities across each state and territory as is achievable within the time-frame.

The Royal Australian Mint has temporarily closed its upstairs Gallery to the public in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health warnings. All other areas of the Mint will remain open including the retail shop and takeaway food and beverages from the Mint’s Café. The Royal Australian Mint fully supports the advice of experts that proper hygiene is essential when touching any object or surface that could be contaminated. This includes coins and banknotes. The best defence is to avoid touching your face, sanitise the surfaces of any items that you touch, and regularly wash your hands.

The Mint’s free guided tours and public programs have been suspended until further notice. The Mint will remain open to the public during normal business hours and visitors are welcome to take a self-guided tour. These measures have been taken to avoid gathering larger groups of people in one area.

Due to the unfolding Coronavirus situation, the Royal Australian Mint has cancelled the first Stage of the Eureka! Roadshow, which was scheduled to visit Tasmania next week.
The health and safety of staff, customers and visitors continues to be the Mint’s first priority.
