1. The Royal Australian Mint Sydney Icons Offer is available for phone orders only. Customers must contact the Royal Australian Mint Contact Centre on 1300 652 020 and place their order to be eligible for this promotion. This offer will NOT be redeemable via the Mint eShop, nor via the Mint onsite retail store.

Ordering for Christmas?

All orders must be received by 5 pm ESDT on Friday 13 December 2013 for it to be delivered in time for Christmas (Australia only). All orders for WA must be received by Monday 9 December 2013. This includes online, mail and fax orders as we cannot guarantee deliveries will arrive in time after this date.

Alternatively you can purchase Royal Australian Mint products at selected Australia Post outlets, coin dealers and onsite at the Mint. If you would like to purchase onsite, we are located at Denison Street Deakin in Canberra and open every day except for Christmas Day.

Royal Australian Mint nominated in 5 categories in Krause Publications' 2014 Coin of the Year Awards

Krause Publications, a leading producer of coin and paper money books, magazines, events and online products, has announced that the Royal Australian Mint has been nominated in five different categories as part of the 2014 Coin of the Year awards.

The coins nominated for the awards were released in 2012, and represent the highest achievement in theme, design and marketing from mints and central banks from around the world.

Mint highlights at Melbourne International Coin and Banknote Show

Collectors attending the Melbourne International Coin and Banknote Show are in for a treat, with the Royal Australian Mint bringing a star-studded numismatic lineup to this premier collecting event.

Aside from the Mint booth, which will be open from 10 am - 6 pm on Friday and 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday, the Mint will be offering a range of program highlights across the three days of the show, including:

Key to the House at Parliament House Open Day

Even Australia’s Parliament House has a key to the front door!

One of two gold-plated keys used by Queen Elizabeth II to officially open new Parliament House on Monday 9 May 1988 will be on display in the Main Foyer during the Parliament House Open Day this Saturday 24 August.

These keys were manufactured at the Royal Australian Mint, and are on loan to promote the upcoming exhibition Key to the House, which opens on 17 October.

 

Bring a coin swap to your capital city

Want the Mint to bring a coin swap to your state's capital city? Get on Twitter and vote to get the Mint to bring the 2013 60th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II $2 coloured circulating coin to you!

The competition will begin today Monday 12 August 2013, and end two weeks later on Monday 26 August 2013. Whichever capital city with the most tweets in that time will be the location of the Coin Swap.

Meet a Hero on Youtube

On Thursday 18 April not only one but five modern day heroes in Victoria Cross and George Cross recipients, Keith Payne, Ben Roberts-Smith, Daniel Keighran, Michael Pratt and Willie Apiata came to Mint to meet the public and strike a special 2013 Centenary of Canberra $5 silver proof coin. Earth Hour 2013

The Mint is proud to be turning off its lights for Earth Hour again this year, which will be occurring from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Saturday 23 March 2013.

Earth Hour is a global sustainability movement organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and is a global call to action to stand up, to take responsibility, and lead the global journey to a sustainable future. Along with millions of others around the globe, the Mint will 'power down' for one hour at 8:30 pm on Saturday 23 March by turning off all lighting and unplugging appliances at the power point.

Mint part of the fun at the 2013 Sydney Royal Easter Show

The Royal Australian Mint is setting up shop at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show next to the NSW Police booth and CWA stand in the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Hall from 21 March - 3 April 2013. Visit our stand to see our latest coin releases and get your Show souvenir by counterstamping your own ‘S’ for Sydney on our 2013 Bicentenary of the Holey Dollar and Dump $1 uncirculated coin using our portable press.

 

Coin offer for Mint Legends members

Mint Legends members are eligible to claim the unsold 2013 Bicentenary of the Holey Dollar and Dump 'P' Counterstamp $1 coins from the Perth ANDA show.

Each Legend will be able to purchase up to five of the coins. To claim yours, please call our contact centre on 1300 652 020.

We will be operating on a first come, first served basis - so make sure you
get in quickly!

To qualify, you need to have joined as a Mint Legend Member on or before

Coin swap at Canberra Cavalry game this Friday

Ticketholders to the Canberra Cavalry vs Perth Heat Australian Baseball League Championship game this Friday 8 February have even more reason to get excited, as the Mint will be there ready to swap brand new Centenary of Canberra 20c coins for their change.

The Mint will be at Narrabundah Ballpark from 5.30 pm and you will need a ticket to the game to swap as the stand will be set up inside the main gates. Keep an eye on the Mint's Twitter and Facebook pages for any updates.

Come on down to the One Day International at Manuka Oval in Canberra and swap one of your 20 cent coins for a brand new one featuring the Centenary of Canberra design.

The Mint will be there from 12 noon and you don't need a ticket to the game as they will be outside the main gates so just bring your 20 cent coins! Keep an eye on the Mint's Twitter and Facebook pages for any updates.

Curved Coin dazzles at 2013 Canberra Engineering Excellence Awards

The Royal Australian Mint was honoured to accept a 2013 Canberra Engineering Excellence Award for the 2012 Southern Sky Crux Curved Coin awarded at the Engineers Australia (Canberra Division) Annual Awards Ceremony held last night on Thursday 12 September.

The award was selected in recognition of the engineering innovation required to produce the 2012 Southern Cross Crux Curved Coin.
