2002 $1 Silver Kangaroo coin features design by Western Australian Aboriginal painter

Body: 

A specially commissioned design by WA painter, Mark Nodea, is featured on the 2002 Silver Kangaroo coin just released by the Royal Australian Mint, our national Mint.

The collector coin is the tenth in the series of Silver Kangaroo $1 coins released since 1993 and is the second one to depict a Kangaroo in an Aboriginal format.

The International Year of the Volunteer $1 circulating coin

Body: 

To celebrate the International Year of the Volunteer, the Federal Government has authorised the release of a $1 circulating coin featuring the Logo of the International Year. The Mint will produce some 6 million coins that will go into circulation around the country over the next few months. The coin will only be produced as a circulating coin and not in a proof or uncirculated format.

Victorian coin to commemorate Centenary of Federation

A new commemorative 20c coin for Victoria, jointly designed by two Victorian primary school students, will be unveiled on Thursday, 3 May, 2001.

The Federal Minister for the Arts and the Centenary of Federation, The Hon Peter McGauran, MP will unveil the 20c coin jointly designed by school friends Ryan Ladd and Mark Kennedy at a morning function at Lara Lake Primary School.

Queensland student's design featured in new State Coin Set

Body: 

A new commemorative 20 cent coin for Queensland, designed by a North Queensland school student, was officially launched today in Brisbane by the Federal Minister for Small Business, The Hon Ian Macfarlane, MP.

Jenifer Gray of Ingham designed the coin as part of a special series produced by the Royal Australian Mint to commemorate Australia's Centenary of Federation.

Norfolk Island student designs Centenary of Federation 20c coin

Body: 

The Royal Australian Mint today announced the winner of the Norfolk Island section of the national Centenary of Federation coin design competition.

The winning design was prepared by Megan Cummings, a student at Norfolk Island Central School.

Megan's design will be officially unveiled on 8 June, Bounty Day and an important holiday on the Island.

Victorian student designs Centenary of Federation 20c coin

The Royal Australian Mint today announced the winner of the Victorian section of the national Centenary of Federation coin design competition.

Interestingly, the winning design was co-prepared by two students from Lara Lake Primary School near Geelong, Ryan Douglas Ladd and Mark Aaron Kenndey.

Ryan and Mark's design will be officially unveiled on the 3 May 2001.

NSW student's design featured in new State coin set | Royal Australian Mint's Centenary of Federation Coins launched by Minister

The first collector coin designed by a New South Wales school student was unveiled by the Minister for Financial Services & Regulation, Hon Joe Hockey MP, in Sydney today.

Joseph Neve, a year 11 student from Bellingen High School, designed the 20c coin, part of a special set produced by the Royal Australian Mint to commemorate Australia's Centenary of Federation.

Mint changes coin dies to strike the Army's 100th birthday coin

The public coining press at the Royal Australian Mint have just had their dies changed and will now be striking the new 2001 $1 Centenary of the Army coin. This milestone for the Army is of national significance, and a coin especially dedicated to it is a timely acknowledgment of the sacrifices our service men and women have made during the past century.
