Commendation for Brave ConductThe Commendation for Brave Conduct is awarded for other acts of bravery which are considered worthy of recognition. It is the fourth highest Australian Bravery Decoration and the fourth highest civilian bravery award in Australia.

The Commendation for Brave Conduct is a silver-gilt sprig of mimosa mounted on a blood-red backing ribbon, symbolising arterial blood.

In July 1991, Mandy Miles saw smoke coming from the roof of a house and made the decision to stop and find out what was going on. Mandy put her life on the line to try to save those inside the building.
