Change to face value coin swap schedule

The schedule for the face value coin swap for sachets has been changed. The dates and denominations are as below:

Monday 4 April 2016
20 cent - 20 coins in a pack - $4.00
10 cent - 40 coins in a pack - $4.00
5 cent - 40 coins in a pack - $2.00
*Above coin packs cannot be purchased separately

Monday 1 August 2016: $1.00 - 10 coins in a pack - $10.00

Monday 5 September 2016: $2.00 - 5 coins in a pack - $10.00

Please note that these are only available via the Mint's online store and Contact Centre.

Mint hops along to the Sydney Royal Easter Show

With the Sydney Royal Easter Show offering a great range of activities for the family, the Royal Australian Mint will be joining in the fun from 17 - 30 March 2016. The very popular mobile press will be ready to stamp with the Mint offering show-goers the opportunity to strike an 'S' for Sydney on the 2016 $1 Uncirculated Coin - Australia's First Mints for only $5.00 each.

50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency Special Offer

Can't wait to find the commemorative coins in your change? The Mint is offering collectors the opportunity to get their hands on these coins at face value! To align with the release of these coins through financial institutions, customers can purchase one pack of these special coins at a value of $10.00 per transaction. The first coin available will be the prominent 50 cent piece perfectly marking the 50th anniversary of decimal currency!

The Changeover Tour

The Changeover Tour is back! Shortly after the 50th anniversary of decimal currency, the Royal Australian Mint (the Mint) will be visiting a number of regional centres spanning southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

With the mobile press in tow, The Changeover Tour will bring the minting experience to the people of Albury, Bendigo, Ballarat, Melbourne, Launceston and Hobart to share the decimal currency story.

Making the Change at Enlighten

If you would like a remarkable souvenir of your Enlighten experience, visit the mobile Mint at Australian Parliament House - and make your very own change!In 1966 Australians were first introduced to decimal currency. Fifty years later, the Mint is offering you the chance to counterstamp your own uncirculated 50th anniversary of decimal currency dollar coin, with a special 'C' for Canberra.

Contact Centre Shutdown over Christmas Period

The Royal Australian Mint's Contact Centre will be closed from 3.30 pm Wednesday 23 December 2015 to 8.30 am Monday 4 January 2016 Australian Eastern Daylight-saving Time (AEDST).

However, you will still be able to place orders online (eshop and jewellery), through mail order and via Fax (+61 6202 6953).

Please note, the Mint will not process or dispatch any orders placed during the shutdown period until the week commencing 4 January 2016.

 
 

Holiday Opening Hours

The Royal Australian Mint would like to wish everyone a happy holiday period and ensure that anyone visiting the Mint during this time is aware of the changes to free public tour times and opening hours. Please keep in mind that the factory will not be in production from Christmas Day and will reopen on Monday 4 January 2016.
