The Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law, Senator Nick Sherry will unveil a new coin design which features Blessed Mary MacKillop on Tuesday 8 July 2008 at 11:00am.

The Royal Australian Mint recently published an article in the February edition of The Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine titled Coming to terms with ‘marks’.

In a first for the Royal Australian Mint, a coin 400 times larger than a standard one dollar coin was used to unveil the 2008 circulating coin, commemorating the Centenary of Scouts Australia.

The brand new range of 2008 collector coins shined in a special Mint movie premiere at the Royal Australian Mint on Wednesday 31 October. The special movie presentation, which is available to watch online (please attached link here), launched the Mint 2008 collector products including the; 2008 Year Sets - International Year of Planet Earth, 2008 Centenary of Rugby League $1 Uncirculated Coin, 2008 Kangaroo at Sunset, 2008 Kangaroo coins by Reg Mombassa, the 2008 Baby Set and the 2008 Wedding Set.
