 Victoria Three Coin Set  PROOF The exquisite coins in the Victorian Three Coin Proof Set are a great example of the quality for which the Royal Australian Mint is renowned. Each 20c, 50c and $1 proof coin in this set has a smooth mirror-like background contrasted by a frosted design. Designed by school friends Ryan Douglas Ladd and Mark Aaron Kennedy from Lara Lake Primary School in Victoria, the 20c coin depicts Melbourne’s beautiful Royal Exhibition Building. Significant as the location of the first sitting of Federal Parliament in Australia on 9 May 1901, the Building was opened in 1880 to host Melbourne’s first International Exhibition. Today, the Building is one of the world’s oldest and largest exhibition pavilions, reflecting the 19th century international exhibition movement. Victoria’s floral emblem, the Common Heath, surrounds the main design. On the 50c coin is the Victorian Coat of Arms depicting the State’s shield supported by two female figures, Peace and Prosperity, reflecting Victoria’s motto ‘Peace and Prosperity’. The third coin in the set is a coloured $1 piece featuring the Centenary of Federation logo. Presented in the traditional Victorian colour, navy blue, every proof set comes with a serial numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
