Are the ‘Holey Dollar’ and ‘Dump’ coins still legal tender?

The Holey Dollar and Dump are the only Australian coins which have had their ‘legal tender’ status removed, or been ‘demonetised’.

Mint produces coin for Australian Open finals

Specially released collectible coins from the Royal Australian Mint will be used in the coin tosses at the Australian Open men's and women's finals this weekend.

The coins used to begin the matches will be auctioned by Tennis Australia on eBay, with half the proceeds going to the Australian Tennis Foundation.
