The perfect wedding gift for 2006 has been unveiled at the Royal Australian Mint

16th November 2005

The toaster has been replaced as the most popular wedding present, according to the Royal Australian Mint with the release of a Wedding Set for 2006.

The perfect wedding gift is hard to find and in many cultures the gift of money is not only perfectly acceptable but considered essential. Therefore the Royal Australian Mint has continued its highly popular Wedding Sets with a new release for 2006.

Featuring the Australian coins in a special finish suitable to the occasion this 6 coin set has a gem finish, which to the lay person means it is polished and shining, as befitting the occasion. The Mint creates each of the coins in the Wedding Collection in the very high quality grade of gem uncirculated - currently the only coins produced in this grade. This in itself makes the set truly special and unique.

Delightfully packaged and presented, the coins in the Wedding Collection have been attentively positioned to resemble the Southern Cross with a special plaque provided for a personal engraved message. Bearing all the signs of the perfect Australian gift, the gem uncirculated Wedding Coin Collection will be cherished for years to come.

The Royal Australian Mint's 2006 Wedding Coin Collection is available for purchase from direct from the Mint by calling 1300 652 020 or visiting www.ramint.gov.au.
