Brand new exhibit 'Treasures from the National Coin Collection'

3rd April 2007

As part of the refurbishment project, the Royal Australian Mint has made changes to the visitor facilities.

When visiting the Mint, you will now be able to:

  • Visit our new exhibition 'Treasures of the National Coin Collection'. This features some new displays and an updated light and sound commentary.
  • Watch a brand new presentation in the Mint theatrette featuring TV personality Shelley Craft. This presentation features the history of the Royal Australian Mint, our purpose and the current refurbishment project;
  • Strike your own coin on the visitor press; and
  • Browse through the coin shop.

Come along with your family and friends and experience the Royal Australian Mint prior to the refurbishment. As always we offer free car parking, free entry and free barbecue facilities.

We look forward to opening a brand new visitor experience in late 2008. This will include the reintroduction of the observation gallery with views of the factory floor, and an exciting new gallery. Until then, please enjoy 'Treasures of the National Coin Collection'.

Please note that our address and opening times remain the same:

  • Denison Street, Deakin ACT
  • Monday-Friday 9.00am- 4.00pm
  • Weekends and Public Holidays 10.00am- 4.00pm (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day).
