My special interest is in design. I like to think about coin blanks (the blank metal shapes that are yet to be struck into coins) and what will eventually be on them. I like drawing my own coin designs as well as making montages using rubbings of my coin collection. At the Mint, it is quite a long process to get from the design stage to the finished product (as you will find out!).
